Flat Pack Furniture Kits

We offer a range of flat pack kits, from tailored kits for small vans to custom/universal kits for large vans.

Please ensure you have read this page before ordering a flat pack kit as this explains the process and the skills needed

Small van flat pack kits

For popular small vans such as the VW T4 and T5 we offer flat pack furniture that is shaped to fit in your van and 9/10 times will go straight in with little or no modifications required (you may need to do the odd bit of trimming depending on how your van has been ply-lined – some vans are worse for this than others, for example, the Vauxhall Vivaro can by ply-lined in a couple of different ways so these kits may need extra trimming).

These kits need to be fitted by someone who is competent to do so, a good level of DIY skills is recommended. You will need tools such as a jigsaw and good quality electric screwdriver.

You will also receive a basic fitting guide and basic fitting kit (you may have to purchase extra screws/brackets to ensure your kit is securely fastened in your van). It is your responsibility to make sure the kit is fitted safely and securely.

It is important to ensure that any appliances fitted to your vehicle are done by someone who is qualified/competent to do so and in line with regulations and guidelines.

Large van / universal flat pack kits

Our universal large van flat pack kits are a great way to get a professional looking finish to your self-build camper van at an affordable price, however, you need to make sure that going down the flat pack route is the right option for you.

Kits are made to order and are made to your own custom measurements and design. You can provide your own measurements or we can provide you with some initial generic measurements tailored to your van to get you started. Whilst we are happy to discuss designs and layout with you and offer as much advice as we can, it is your responsibility to make sure all measurements are correct and that the design is right. You need to take into account and think about the location of wheel arches, windows, roof vents, etc. We will not be held responsible for any incorrect measurements or design.

The kits come as individual pieces with all doors fitted and hinged and all edge trim fitted. All the panels come in square pieces so you will have to scribe them to match the shape and profile of your vehicle. You will also receive a basic fitting guide and basic fitting kit (you may have to purchase extra screws/brackets to ensure your kit is securely fastened in your van). It is your responsibility to make sure the kit is fitted safely and securely.

Once you have placed a deposit for a large flat pack kit, we will email to you a 3D image of your layout design with all the measurements, you then need to check these in your van make sure they are correct, it’s easy to make changes at this stage so if you decide you want anything altering or the measurements are not correct, just let us know and we will change the drawing. We can repeat this process as many times as you want until you are 100% happy with the design and are confident that all the measurements are correct. Once you’re satisfied you sign off the drawing we are then ready to start cutting your furniture and making your cushions. PLEASE NOTE, any changes made after the drawing has been signed off or after delivery of the kit will be chargeable.

These kits need to be fitted by someone who is competent to do so, a good level of DIY skills is recommended. You will need tools such as a jigsaw and good quality electric screwdriver. There are a lot of pieces, although the pieces will be labelled, there are a lot of them and the kits can be complicated so you need to make sure whoever is fitting the kit is confident in doing so and able to understand the 3D drawings.

It is important to ensure that any appliances fitted to your vehicle are done by someone who is qualified/competent to do so and in line with regulations and guidelines.

We would generally allow between 3-6 days to fit the kits depending on the design of the kit and the speed at which you work.

Kits generally take between 2-4 weeks to make from the time of drawing sign off.

Convert Your Van Ltd - Race Van / Sports Home Layout Guide

Below is a brief guide to choosing/designing your race van/sports home layout, there are example layouts as well as hints and tips on how to decide what you want. For example layouts for different size vans check the other layout guide pages on our site.

When deciding on a layout it is good practice to look at what has been done before, go to motorhome shows or large dealers where you can have a browse around. Bear in mind that what might look great in a photo (or layout diagram), might not be ideal for everyone in practice, so to go and have a look inside and a walk round existing motorhomes can give you a better idea of what you can expect to fit in a given sized van.

The next thing to consider is that when it comes to a camper van interior, everything is always a compromise, the ideal would be a coach sized motorhome to fit everything in that you want, but that would fit in a car parking space at the local supermarket, and that obviously isn't possible! So it comes down to compromise. Decide what you need in your camper, what you'd like in your camper, and what you could do without. For example, how many secondhand motorhomes/campervans/caravans do you see where the shower has never been used? Do you need one? Some people will, some people won't.

If you already have your van, once you have a layout in mind it is a good idea to try it in the van, this can be done by drawing it on the floor or marking it with tape, you can then get an idea of what space will be left, what gaps you'll have to walk through, etc. And don't forget the wheel arches! Arches can often get in the way of fridges, toilets, etc, so try to bare them in mind when planning your layout.

Below you will find some example layouts with approximate prices for furniture and cushions (prices are a guide and can vary either way depending on van model and finer details - please see prices page for more details). The diagrams are intended as a guide, you could possibly combine your favourite parts of more than one layout to come up with something that is right for you. If there is nothing that seems ideal, you can always email us with your own unique layout and we can give you a quote based on that, all we need is a detailed description or better still a diagram and we can give you an accurate quote.

Please note: Prices shown are intended as a guide and are for furniture and cushions only, they don't include any appliances, lining, windows, etc
(See Prices page for further details of all prices)

Race Van / Sports Home Conversions

The layouts below show various options/examples for Race Van / Sports Home Conversions. They all provide a large garage area at the rear for Motorbikes or other large items such as Go-Karts, Quads, Mountain Bikes, Outdoor Equipment, etc. Each image shows the van it was based on, although they can be adapted to suit other vans. Also remember these are examples, if you have your own ideas or would like a combination of more than one layout we can build to individual specifications.
